Minette opens 'crime house' for Bournemouth University students

Minette at crime house openingMinette formally opened Bournemouth University’s very own 'crime house' in December, 2006.

Furnished like a normal, domestic residence, Rose Cottage will allow students from the University's undergraduate and postgraduate forensic programmes to carry out full-scale simulated crime scene investigations and protocols.

There are also plans to work closely with the emergency services and civic groups who can benefit from the opportunity to use Rose Cottage to practice and observe practical investigation techniques.

The facility, at the Lansdowne Campus (behind the Old Fire Station) features three fully-furnished domestic rooms - lounge, kitchen and bedroom - with a small garden and outdoor area, including a full-sized car.

Minette, who you may recall received an Honorary Doctorate from BU in 2005, was enthusiastic about the facility, and she pledged to return to undertake a course herself!
