I've been a long-time admirer of your books - many of which I obtained in signed copies through Ralph Spurrier's Crime in Store, and later through Ralph on his own. Having moved from the U.K. to Canada some seven years ago, this was a convenient way of getting the latest releases. Unfortunately, I haven't been in contact with Ralph for some time, but still manage to get the books online in a timely manner!

So it was that The Tinder Box arrived a couple of days ago, and I just wanted to drop a note to say how much I enjoyed it, how well I felt it portrayed the antagonism towards the Irish, and how right was your highlighting of the bigotry and busy-bodying and petty dictatorships that can exist in small communities. Naturally, being Canadian now, I'm biased toward the English... ;-)

Anyway, that's all. Looking forward to Disordered Minds, which is on a pile of books I shall be taking away on holiday with me in a couple of weeks' time.

Just finished reading The Tinder Box and (as always!) thoroughly enjoyed it. Clever twist at the end. Interesting to see ideas that were later further developed in both Acid Row and Fox Evil.

Another fine piece from my favourite author.

You have succeded in making another novel that is so hard to put down. The twist at the end is brilliant... You bring escape to my hectic life with these novels, I am forever going back to the first one and reading them all again.

I am eagerly awaiting the next novel and I just know it will be as good if not better than the rest of them.
